The ABC showed it on the Insiders program Sunday morning on their Talking Pictures segment ( a regular segment on the week’s political cartoons from the nation’s newspapers) . I’m enjoying working for the Hobart Mercury after many years with the HeraldSun as a sports cartoonist and it’s always nice to have recognition for your work by the Insiders (even if it is shown too early on a Sunday morning). A new commission piece of Moggs Creek on the Surf A new commission piece of Moggs Creek on the Surf Coast. . This is the largest painting I’ve done at 160cm x 130 cm in size( acrylic on canvas) . Doing something this size posed some challenges as it wouldn’t fit up the ladder to my loft studio space, so I’ll have to thank my family for allowing me to take over our house for the last few months while I worked on this! . I’ve been looking for different angles and views of the coast around Fairhaven/ Aireys and this image comes to my mind as you travel along the Great Ocean Road towards the beach. The iconic Mad Max house would be situated in the intersection of the creek,rolling hills and beach and is a hidden landmark that has changed over the years but just like the movie , is part of the culture of the area.
